JESUS

Jesus: Man, Prophet, or God?

The Bible presents Jesus as fully man, a prophet, and ultimately God in the flesh.

Jesus as a Man

Jesus lived as a human, experiencing emotions, temptations, and physical limitations, yet without sin.

  • John 1:14 (NLT) – "So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son."

  • Hebrews 2:14 (NLT) – "Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death."

  • Luke 2:52 (NLT) – "Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people."

Jesus as a Prophet

Jesus was recognized as a prophet by the people and spoke God’s truth.

  • Luke 24:19 (NLT) – "‘What things?’ Jesus asked. ‘The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,’ they said. ‘He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people.’"

  • Matthew 21:11 (NLT) – "The crowds replied, ‘It’s Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.’"

  • John 6:14 (NLT) – "When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, ‘Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!’"

Jesus as God

Jesus is not just a man or a prophet—He is God in human form.

  • John 10:30 (NLT) – "The Father and I are one."

  • Colossians 2:9 (NLT) – "For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body."

  • John 1:1 (NLT) – "In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God."

  • John 8:58 (NLT) – "Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am!’"

  • Titus 2:13 (NLT) – "We look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed."

Jesus was fully human, lived as a prophet, and ultimately is fully God. The Bible teaches that He is God incarnate, the Savior of the world, and the only way to eternal life.

God’s Heart on Jesus

God’s heart is fully revealed in Jesus Christ, His Son, who came to bring salvation, truth, and eternal life to humanity. Jesus is the expression of God’s love, grace, and redemption for the world.

Jesus as God’s Beloved Son

God declares His deep love for Jesus and affirms His divine mission.

  • Matthew 3:17 (NLT) – "And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.’"

  • Luke 9:35 (NLT) – "Then a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.’"

Jesus as the Way to the Father

  • John 3:16 (NLT) – "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus as the Image of God

  • Hebrews 1:3 (NLT) – "The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command."

Jesus as the Savior of the World

God’s heart for Jesus is centered on His role as the Savior who brings forgiveness and eternal life.

  • 1 John 4:9-10 (NLT) – "God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."

  • Romans 5:8 (NLT) – "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."

Jesus as King and Lord

God has exalted Jesus as King of Kings and given Him authority over all things.

  • Philippians 2:9-11 (NLT) – "Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

God’s heart on Jesus is one of love, purpose, and redemption. Jesus is God’s greatest gift to the world, the perfect revelation of His heart, and the only way to salvation. God calls us to believe in Jesus, follow Him, and experience His love forever.

  • Colossians 1:16-17 (NLT) – "For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth.
