END DAYS - END TIMES

Biblical Perspective on the End Days (End Times)

The Bible teaches that the end days (or end times) will be marked by spiritual, moral, and global shifts leading to the return of Jesus Christ. Scripture provides warnings, signs, and encouragement for believers to stay faithful, watchful, and prepared.

The End Times Are Certain

The Bible is clear that Jesus will return, and the world as we know it will come to an end. However, no one knows the exact time.

  • Matthew 24:36 (NLT) – “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.”

  • Revelation 22:12 (NLT) – “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.”

Signs of the End Times

Jesus and the apostles described specific signs that would indicate the approaching end.

✔ Increased deception & false teachers

  • Matthew 24:4-5 (NLT) – Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.”

  • 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT) – “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”

✔ Wars, conflicts, and global turmoil

  • Matthew 24:6-7 (NLT) – “And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

✔ Increased sin and moral decay

  • 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NLT) – “You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful.”

✔ Persecution of Christians

  • Matthew 24:9 (NLT) – “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.”

✔ The Gospel will be preached to all nations

  • Matthew 24:14 (NLT) – “And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”

The Rise of the Antichrist and Global Deception

The Bible warns about a coming Antichrist—a world leader who will oppose Christ and deceive many.

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NLT) – “For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god.”

  • Revelation 13:16-17 (NLT) – “He required everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark.”

Hope and Encouragement for Believers

While the end times bring darkness and trials, believers are not to fear—we are called to stand firm in faith and trust in God’s sovereignty.

✔ Jesus is our ultimate victory

  • John 16:33 (NLT) – “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

✔ God will protect and strengthen His people

  • Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) – “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

✔ Stay alert and ready

  • Luke 21:36 (NLT) – “Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”

The Final Victory – New Heaven and New Earth

God promises that after the end times, He will create a new heaven and earth, where His people will live eternally with Him.

  • Revelation 21:1-4 (NLT) – “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, ‘Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.’”

How Should We Live?

The Bible tells us not to live in fear but to be prepared, faithful, and committed to sharing the Gospel.

🔹 Seek God daily (Matthew 6:33)
🔹 Stay faithful and endure (Revelation 3:10)
🔹 Share the Gospel boldly (Matthew 28:19-20)
🔹 Pray and watch for Christ’s return (Mark 13:33)

Are you ready for Christ’s return? How are you living today in light of eternity?

When Did The End Days (End Times) Start?

The Bible teaches that the "end days" or "end times" began with the first coming of Jesus Christ and will culminate with His second coming and the final judgment.

The End Days Began with Jesus' First Coming

The Bible makes it clear that the "last days" began when Jesus came to Earth to fulfill God’s redemptive plan. Since then, we have been living in the end times.

  • Hebrews 1:1-2 (NLT) – "Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe."

  • Acts 2:16-17 (NLT) – "No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.'"

Signs of the End Times

Jesus and the apostles described key signs that would occur throughout history, intensifying before His second coming:

🔹 False Messiahs & Deception – (Matthew 24:4-5)
🔹 Wars & Rumors of Wars – (Matthew 24:6)
🔹 Natural Disasters (Earthquakes, Famines, Plagues) – (Matthew 24:7)
🔹 Increased Persecution of Believers – (Matthew 24:9)
🔹 Increase of Wickedness & Falling Away from Faith – (Matthew 24:12, 2 Timothy 3:1-5)
🔹 Gospel Preached to All Nations – (Matthew 24:14)

We Are Closer Than Ever

Even though the end times started with Jesus’ first coming, we are now approaching the final phase before His return.

  • Romans 13:11 (NLT) – "This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed."

  • 2 Timothy 3:1 (NLT) – "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times."

The Second Coming & the Final Judgment

The Bible assures us that Jesus will return to judge the world and establish His eternal kingdom.

  • Matthew 24:30 (NLT) – "And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

  • Revelation 22:12 (NLT) – "Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds."

How Should We Live in the End Times?

Since we are living in the last days, God calls us to be spiritually prepared:

✅ Stay Watchful & Ready – (Matthew 24:42-44)
✅ Live Righteously & Obediently – (2 Peter 3:11-12)
✅ Preach the Gospel to All Nations – (Matthew 28:19-20)
✅ Encourage & Strengthen Each Other – (Hebrews 10:25)

The end times began with Jesus and continue until His return. Instead of fearing, believers should live with urgency, faith, and hope, knowing that God is in control and Jesus is coming soon!

  • John 14:1-3 (NLT) – “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”
